Tararua Wind Farm T1 & T2

Our team members worked on the Tararua T1 & T2 project  which was located across the top of the Tararua ranges adjacent to the Manawatu Gorge where 48 and subsequently 55 V47 turbines were installed. This was the first wind farm of scale in New Zealand.

David Rubery provided ECI professional services as the principal civil subcontract representative for the internal roading geometric design and managed the subcontract works for the CBOP for the on-site road, hardstand and external access road construction.

The project was successfully delivered and was the start of David’s on-going input to the wind energy sector in the region drawing on his understanding of local conditions and construction logistics.
